The Municipal development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia with the help of the World Bank under the regional development project finished the construction activities of the tourism infrastructure in Telavi near the territory of the old and new Shuamta .
The Region of Kakheti was visited by the Minister of Regional development and Infrastructure of Georgia – Zurab Alavidze, The Alaverdi Monastery archbishop – Davit Makharadze, The Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund – Galaktion Buadze, The State Attorney - Governor – Irakli Kadagishvili and the Local Self – Government representatives for the purpose of the opening of the new objects for tourists and the survey of the fulfilled works.
Under the project the news centre of visitors, the gift shops, tourist tracks, roads leading to the objects and the car parking were constructed near the Cultural Heritage Monument . Also was arranged and solved the water problem.
The reconstruction activities lasted a year and the value of the cost was amounted by 1 871 000 GEL.
